At the time of procedure the doctor will bandage the area that has been treated. Keep the bandage on and dry for the day. You can expect some tenderness, particularly with pressure such as a tight-fitting shoe, for a day or two following the procedure. Pain can be managed with Tylenol. It is normal for the area of the wart excision to bleed through bandage.
The night following the procedure: Remove bandages, wash with soap and water, apply a small amount of antibiotic ointment with Vaseline gauze and a regular band-aid/dry gauze and tape. Apply offloading pads as needed surrounding the excision area.
Further instructions: Continue washing with soap and water two days after. After the area is cleaned and dried, apply antibiotic ointment, band-aid, and offloading pads.
After two days, change the band-aid without ointment for one week.
