Dr. James Willmore was born and raised in Logan, UT, and is a proud alumnus of Utah State University. After graduation, he attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine in the Bay Area, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Willmore was accepted into the prestigious residency program at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA where he was trained in reconstructive surgery, trauma, limb salvage/wound care, and other advanced surgical techniques.
As a podiatrist, Dr. Willmore treats an array of foot and ankle conditions, ranging from ingrown toenails and diabetic complications to traumatic fractures and foot reconstruction. He has also completed research in bunions and advanced wound care techniques, and has a special interest in biomechanics and treating sports-related foot and ankle injuries.
Dr. Willmore strongly believes in collaborative care with his patients, working together to resolve their foot concerns. By providing each patient with extensive information, he empowers them to make informed decisions about their care. Additionally, he is an accomplished sports medicine practitioner and is dedicated to helping patients of all ages participate in the activities they love. He also speaks Spanish.
Dr. Willmore had extensive experience in pediatric podiatry during his residency, working at Rady’s Children’s hospital in San Diego, including treating young patients with congenital deformities and traumatic injuries. He continues that expertise today, seeing many of The Foot and Ankle Center’s littlest patients.
Dr. Willmore enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, watching and participating in sports, finding a peaceful spot in the outdoors, fly fishing, and skiing.
